Busy, busy!

Busy, busy! That is how I feel all the time at the moment.

This week the painters finished off the inside painting. Thanks Dad and Sue.

I have been preparing for a garage sale this weekend. I have painted some signs which I will put up tomorrow. I hope the rain stays away. Tomorrows main jobs are pricing everything, final set up and clean of a few kitchen items that have been stored for a long time and get the cash float. Also this weekend we are going out for dinner to another church families place for our church run Hospitality Night. Good friends are coming over for lunch on Sunday after church to celebrate some birthdays and general catch up. I am leading creche at church in the morning and I am sure I will have another large pile of washing to get through.

The good news this week is that I received our official letter exempting Maddi from attendance at school during our travels. Now I need to arrange with her teacher the appropriate work. Hopefully I will be able to use the majority of what I prepared for the home schooling application. We believe this solution has actually turned out to be the best for us as Maddi will continue to be apart of her class, rather then no longer at the school and we can keep a lot more contact.

I am in the process of completing all the paperwork necessary to enrol Ella in Kindergarten next year. Hopefully I will have the first step completed tomorrow. Then the next job is to give Ella's preschool notice of her leaving. I think her last day will be the 31st May. This is the day before we leave. I think I will need Maddi and Ella at their normal activities so I can get any last minute things done.

Phil has been working exceptionally hard with many late nights. I have done nearly every night bedtime routine solo for the last 3 weeks. I am so looking forward to getting on the road and spending more time with my husband and having two of us for things like bedtime.

Until next time...

10 weeks to go..

So many thoughts are going through my mind.

Yeah, only 10 weeks to go, can't wait to be out there travelling. Then, oh my, can I really get ready in that timeframe.

Well I am going to have to.

In the process of cleaning out the garage and I am sad to say that we haven't been throwing out as much stuff as I would like to. The bins are full each week but still there is plenty of rubbish we seem to be holding onto. I was hoping the fact that we are going travelling and will have a much simplier life would benefit the home life and remove much of the clutter here.

Better get back to it.

The painters have been again...

We are only 76 days away from hitting the road.

As we are planning on renting out our home while we are away, there are a few jobs around the place that need to be finished. One of the big jobs was finishing the painting from our house extension 4 years ago. I am pleased to say that the painters aka Dad & Sue (my father and stepmum) have been doing a great job and have almost finished all the inside painting jobs. I would just like to say a huge thank you to them as there was no way I could have got the painting done without them. It has also allowed me the time to focus on sorting, chucking and packing.

The next big job is to clean out the garage and find all those other bits and pieces we really don't need anymore. I am having a garage sale (even though Phil doesn't think we need one) on Saturday 2nd April. Hopefully by then I will be very organised and can start taking photos for the rental ad.

I also bought this morning a school sports uniform top in preparation for having two little girls at school come 2012. There will be another trip back to the Uniform shop before we go as I still need another summer tunic so the girls will have two each. People can't believe that I am getting organised now for Ella starting school but I would prefer to do it now then stressing over it in the summer holidays when I can't do anything about it. I also made her library bag this week while I was cleaning out the sewing room.

Until next time.. Happy Travels.

The count down has began ....

Well we are less then 3 months till our departure date of the 1st June and things are starting to take shape.

Today I mailed my application to homeschool Maddi (Year 1) during our trip. The process is very straight forward but the getting my head around the Outcomes, Syllabus and Curriculum not so. A big thank you to my sister-in-law Jo who read it through for me and made some very good suggestions.

Phil's work has also thrown some surprises and planning changes our way this week but we will get to that later when things have firmed up a bit more.

The 'Things yet to be done' list is gaining length so I best get onto more productive tasks.

Till next time.
