Maddi's Minute

Our trip by Maddi.

July 25
In the morning we played netball with the girls and we did funniest home videos. Then got into our swimmers and we went for a walk with the girls. Then we went for a swim but it was too cold so we just put our feet in the water. Then we went back to the campsite.

July 24
On the 24th July we went to the Orche Pits. We saw Aborigines paints and we got to play in the rocks. We started to go on a track. We found an ants nest and we had to go back to the car and we drove and me, Ella and Kai wanted lunch.

July 23
We packed up camp and headed for the west Macdonnell Ranges. The road we drove along was a bumpy dirt road through Aboriginal land and we had to buy a permit. Then we made camp at Ormiston Gorge. We had to find the longest site but it was sloppy so dad had to find a big rock to put under the jockey wheel.

July 20
In the morning we drove to Uluru. Then Ella, me and Dad climbed up the rock to the start of the chain and mum and Kai stayed at the bottom when Me, Ella and dad went up. When we hand lunch at the Cultural Centre and mum left me behind. I cried and cried. Mum was watching a aboriginal girl do painting. We then went and got my drawing. Then we went on the play equipment. Then we met the girls opposite us. Then went up on a hill and watched the sun set on the rock. We went back to camp and the girls came over with their iPads. I was with Trinity on her iPad.

July 19
In the morning we did a walk with lots of rocks to a lookout. Then we went to a bridge and had lunch near the bridge. Then we pretended that we were gobblems under the bridge and some people got on the bridge. Then we went back to the caravan and got ready to have dinner at the sun set viewing area and we saw a girl with her mum and dad.

July 18
In the morning we had pancakes and I helped cook. Then we packed up and went on the bumpy road and drove, drove, drove and drove until we got to Ayers Rock and we played a game called find the rock and Ella round the rock first.

July 15
In the morning I played soccer with the kids behind us. It was fun with the kids behind us. One of the girls said did I do soccer. But I don’t do soccer. They said wow you are good at soccer. I don’t won’t to do soccer because we can do it in our back yard. We have a big back yard.

July 14
In the morning Kai, Ella and I all chased the birds around the camp ground. They flew away. We had lunch at Ti Tree in the park. We stayed at Ti Tree park for a long time. When we arrived at Alice Springs it was raining and very cold.

July 13
In the morning we had a short drive to the Devils Marbles. Then we got our bikes out and we had lunch. Then we went for a bike ride. On the way we saw a dingo. We climbed the Devils Marbles. We saw a tour guide. Then we walked on the grassy track.

July 12
In the morning we climbed the tree. Then we packed up the caravan. Then we drove and drove and drove and drove and drove and drove until we got to a caravan park. We were number 9. It was easy to get into our camping spot. Then we went for a little walk into town. I bought Dairy Milk Snack.

July 11
In the morning we packed up and left Lawn Hill. Mika and Layla left so many hours before. We crossed three rivers and at one of the rivers we fell off the road in the river. We stayed the night at Camooweal beside a billabong. We climbed a tree.

July 10
When we got to the waterfalls we were first. Then we went for a swim, had lunch with Mika and Layla. All five of the kids ran back to the campsite. Later Mika and Layla came over for a play. We played Whatever Next.

July 9
In the morning we woke up very early. We went for a little walk and a very very steep hill to a look out. We went for a walk around the Island Stack Circle walk. We scared Kai with a jelly snake.

July 7
We started the day at Normanton. We walked down the street and played with a big croc. It was a replica of the largest croc ever recorded. We spent the day driving on dirt roads. We saw a helicopter at the water falls where we had lunch. Tonight we had toasted marshmallows on the camp fire.

July 6
First thing in the morning we went to the crater. In the middle of the crater it was flat. We walked all around the rim. We went to Georgetown. Dad has a friend called George.

July 5
When we got up it was sunny. We went in a pool in the middle of Cairns. Dad went and posted a package for the Lawlers and I got a note from Anna in dad's birthday card. We played in the pool. It was very very fun. I am glad we went there. I said thank you mum and dad. I saw the sun set. It was beautiful with red and orange.

July 4
In the morning we went to Port Douglas. We had a ice cream except mummy didn't have one. After we had an ice cream we went and got some sunglasses for the 3 kids. We drove through the Daintree Rainforest. Then we got to road works and went back across the ferry.

July 3
Today I went on a train to Kuranda and did lots of exciting things. We patted a snake and mummy was scared. On the train we went through the rainforest and went through 15 tunnels and saw some waterfalls. Tonight we read Bindi’s wildlife adventures bears beware.

July 2
Today we went to a coffee and lunch shop. There was a talking cockatoo. I said cockatoo give me a toy. He gave me a toy two times. Then we went to Cairns. We are at Lake Placid Caravan Park.

July 1
Toda we saw lots of water falls. My favourite water fall was Millaa Millaa Falls. We went to Nerada tea. They had tractors. There were new and old tractors.

June 30
Today we went to Paronella Park. We saw a big water fall. It was so big I got wet. The ballroom caught on fire in 1979. It was damaged and has not been repaired. We got a piece of the ballroom. We went on a tree top walk. I was their guide. We went up 99 steps and we were as high as the tallest trees.

June 29
In the morning it was sunny and in the afternoon it is raining so we played Blokus. I won the game. We went and saw the Murray Falls. There was lots of water going over the falls and I got wet. Mum did some washing and its not drying.

June 28
It is daddy's birthday today. We celebrated daddy's birthday. We had bacon and eggs for breakfast. We went shopping at Townsville it was raining when we went back to the caravan so me and Ella had to go on the trolley back to the caravan. Dad ran across the car park pushing the trolley with me and Ella in it.

June 27
In the morning I fell off my bike. We packed up the caravan in the rain and we stopped a few times. It is daddy's birthday tomorrow.

June 26
In the morning we got up early and we were very late for the ferry to Daydream Island. It was very very fun at Daydream Island. We went on the play equipment. In the spa I met a girl called Danielle.

June 25
In the morning we went to Cedar Creek Falls. We throwed rocks into Cedar Creek Falls. We then did a drive through Conway Beach. In the afternoon I swam at the lagoon with Kai and Ella. We went shopping and mum got me my favourite books. They were Billie B Brown and dad bought us doughnuts.

June 24
Today we went to Mackay and we met Nicole who is mum and dad's friend. We played in the park and went of a spiny thing and I fell off and hurt my back. Then we had fish and chips. Tonight we are staying at Airlie Beach.

June 23
In the morning we packed up. Then we drove and drove and drove. We had lunch and bought lots more food in Rockhampton. Rockhampton is near the Tropic of Capricorn. It was very hard to find a spot.

June 22
In the morning we all woke up early at 7am. We are at a very small town called 1770 near a road and near a beach. The water was hot but I got stung on my legs. We went for a walk to the other end of the beach. When I was coming out of the park I grazed my foot. We had some hot chips. We went for a walk to a lookout. I heard something move next to the track. It was an echidna. I showed Ella and Kai.

June 21
On the 21st June we left Hervey Bay and went to Bundaberg for lunch. We had some visitors they were Australian White Ibis. I think there were 20 Ibis.

June 20
We did some maths. Then we went to the beach and did some maths and spelling in the sand. The dot game was fun and I won.
Ella and I went for a swim at the beach. The water was hot. I am just joking.
At the park at the beach there was another net swing.
We rode our bikes to the beach and home again. Kai sat on the back of mums bike.

June 19
On the 19th June we went to Hervey Bay. On the way was the biggest and the best park ever. There was lots of people a the park. My favourite thing was the net swing because it went up and down. It was scary. Then we got in the car and we drove to the Big 4 caravan park.

June 18
On the 18th June we went to the zoo! Australia Zoo. I fed the Elephants by hand 5 times. I patted the crocodile. It was a baby crocodile. The red pandas were cut as they ran from branch to branch. I saw two red pandas. We saw a big lizard. Hi name was Komodo Dragon. We saw the tigers. I liked the zoo. You should go to.

June 17
On the 17th June we went to Brisbane. In the morning it was freezing cold in Toowoomba.

June 16
On the 16th day we drove from Moree to Toowoomba to see dad's cousin Jackie. We stopped at the rocket park in Moree. When mummy went down she was a scaredy cat. It was very very steep and fast. That is why mummy was a scaredy cat.

June 15
We drove through some mud on the way to Moree. The car went gggg as it slid in the mud as we turned around. When we had turned around I said 'can we do it again' and dad said NO!

June 14
In the morning we went to the opal place. We went down a mine, at the bottom there was a movie. Then we did the car door tour. We followed red and yellow car doors around Lightning Ridge, we saw an open cut mine.

June 13
Today we drove and drove and drove, we stopped a few times. Then we got to Lightning Ridge. In the morning we played soccer, Ella and I won.

June 12
First we went to the telescope at Parkes. At the telescope they had 2 whispering dishes, I whispered into 1 dish and Ella whispered into the other dish. Then we went to Dubbo zoo I went on a golf cart to get around the zoo. My favorite animal was a Meerkat. Tonight we had a fire.

June 11, 2011
In the morning we rolled out of Sydney at 10am with a very big caravan on the back of the car. It was a very big drive to Parkes. We stopped at Orange for afternoon tea at the park we played on the swing, one of the cockatoos talked to me. The end.
